Long days are elite sport. Nobody trains for them.
Prevention at the workplace, built the way a training plan is built. In Dutch or English, on your site.
I bring all the equipment and set it up in a meeting room, a warehouse or outside on site. You do not need a sports room and nobody has to travel.

Approach
Prevention your people actually do
Back complaints and other musculoskeletal disorders are among the main causes of sick leave. An ergonomic chair or a leaflet does not solve that. People have to learn to move themselves.
So I work on what prevents complaints: back-friendly lifting and working, core stability, mobility and strength. Every exercise comes with an explanation, so everyone repeats it on their own. That way a session fits your prevention plan or annual action plan, and supports the physical and psychosocial wellbeing of the team.
“We called on Birger for 'Bootcamp@work' because we wanted an active session for both production and office staff. It was a huge hit! It was such a success that we will organise it again with him as coach. Birger is a tremendous motivator, took individual needs into account and really challenged us!”

Formats
From team day to programme
Team day or workshop
One session of around two hours. Active movement and fun, with tips people take away straight away. Fits a team day, a team building, a wellbeing week or a training day.
- Intake beforehand on the roles and physical load in the group
- Exercises at every participant's level
Programme
Several weeks with the same group. This is where we work specifically on the back, core stability and strength, and where results show.
- One or two sessions a week, always with me as your dedicated coach
- A test at the start and at the end, so progress becomes visible
- Progression from technique to strength over the weeks
- Reporting back to the prevention adviser or HR on attendance and progress
Twelve weeks with two sessions a week is a good starting point for a group that wants to see results.

What the evaluation says
Official evaluation by 17 participants, Start to Move workshop, Infrabel Summer School, June 2026.
“A very professional coach with an eye for the individual.”
“The professional trainer gave us very targeted personal tips and tricks. The exercises are accessible and directly applicable at the office and at home to prevent injuries and niggles.”
“A great initiative: learning to work in a back-friendly way while connecting with colleagues in a relaxed setting.”
“People should be required to take part in this. People give too little thought to what exercises and movements like these do for your body. It is all to our advantage to avoid picking up niggles and back complaints and running out of energy later on.”
